Effects of drained cohesion on factor of safety

Hi,

I wondered if a drained cohesion increased from 20 kN/m2 to 25 kN/m2 and I know that the lyfactor of safety on increases by a fraction, so what effect does that have on slope stability? How does this affect the geotechnical design?
