Effects of concrete pumping on slump

I know pumping reduces the air in concrete. I was also under the belief that pumping more often than not reduced the slump as well, although not as consistently as with air. I have a project where the slump at the truck is consistently lower than at the point of placement (after pumping). Has anyone else experienced similar conditions?
