I am studying for the upcoming PE Exam in April and need help determining the effective width using AASHTO. I do not have the AASHTO design specifications and do not want to lose points on the exam for a simple question. Can someone help be with the effective width for interior and exterior beams for bridges supported with either steel beams or concrete members. I don't need to know effective widths for p/c closed box sections, open steel or p/c boxes, etc. Just want to know effective width for a steel beam and concrete tee beams maybe also for a p/c bulb-tee section; interior and exterior. Thanks
I try searching on google and all I keep getting is documents of research of what effective widths should be for many complex sections.
