I have a 3 span moment frame which is braced out of plane at the top. I use K=2.0 based on alignment charts.

Question: Can I consider the out of plane bracing at the top so I can use an effective length factor of K=1.0?

Thanks a lot.

Deal with each plane sepately in determining K values.
