Is permitted to use U part item constructed in accordance with ASME Section VIII Div.1 2004 Edition 2005 Addenda on to be U stamped item consructed in ccordance with ASME Section VIII Div.1 2004 Edition No addenda.
If yes please give code reference or interpretations.

Actually, I meant to say the following:
We have used a supplier to manufacture one part of our pressure vessel. The supplier constructed the U PART stamped item as per ASME Section VIII Div. 1 2004 Edition 2005 Addenda however the pressure vessel is in accordance with ASME Section VIII Div. 1 2004 Edition No Addenda, so the question is if it is permissible to use this U Part item on our pressure vessel. If the answer is yes, would you would you please point out the code reference or the interpretation, if any?

Can't help you with code references or interpretations... I guess my first response would be to ask whether there are any changes from 2004 to A05 which would impact this part? Chances are there aren't. And if so... who cares?

I suppose if someone's fussy you could settle it by fabricating the vessel minus the part and applying a U stamp, then adding the part as an alteration. Kind of messy but it gets the job done.
