is there any method to get back the geametry from a stl files, in my company there are so many stl files, which they want to convert to a solid models.

I believe stl models can be stitched up and made solid, but it will be a faceted solid at best. Your not going to be able to restore the original primitives and smooth surfaces.

thanks for your reply mildfire, but how do u stich the stl models in proe-wildfire, and i am aware of the surface finish what we are going to get. i am only looking to get a rough design out of these models

1. Save the stl file in ProE as Shrinkwrap file

or

2. Use Restyle feature to project surfaces on STL Facet

or

3. Use ca you style feature.

thanks for the info ra_inder, i had done this shrinkwrap option, which either ends up with huge files for good resolution, or small file size with bad surfaces. and restyle i couldn't as my system doesn't have this license. anyway thanks for your reply
