HI all

If i use through anchor bolts is it needed to check edge concrete cone failure& spliting and Concrete breakout or just checking only anchors as steel under tension and shear

That's a misconception from the old days that needs to die. If you base your bolt capacity on steel failure modes only, you're likely to wind up reporting ridiculously high capacities. Concrete breakout failure modes are still possible with thru bolting, even if you're calling it a friction based connection. Moreover, there doesn't actually seem to be an accepted methodology for designing through bolt connections which complicates things a bit.

I like to debate structural engineering theory -- a lot. If I challenge you on something, know that I'm doing so because I respect your opinion enough to either change it or adopt it.
