We dxf all of our drawings from Solidworks 04 (any sp) and then nest the parts for Mazak lasers without any problems. However, we use software for nesting that was written "in-house" and is proprietary. The only thing we do is show tangent lines with font so the software only sees boudaries and holes.

Don't suppose you could borrow me the software. lol
just kidding. I guess i stick with rhino for working with our dxf files. Unless someone else has any recomendations

I would but then I would have ta .... well you know, lol. I am not sure how it works so flawlessly, but it does. We program 2 Mazaks and a Cincinatti from our dxf,s and we create Punch files for our strippits and we have no problems with line segments.

Makes me wonder, what version do you DXF as????

I will check what options we set on our DXF output and get back to you, perhaps it may be that simple.

Select Save As, Choose DXF as type, Click Options :

Here is what I use for my settings for DXFs

Version R13
Fonts AutoCad Std only
Line style AutoCad Std Styles

No check for Custom Map SolidWorks to DXF
No check for 1:1 Scale Output

:I dont know if any of that helps, good luck.

I use the same settings as you for export. I have found that if i develope the plate to be cut then select the edges do a convert entities and then export the 2d drawing I have less problems (fewer segments and gaps).

Thanks for your help

regards.
