Here is a new one for me. I have a top level assy dwg with sever al type of views. Everything has always worked good with it. A couple days ago I renamed the dwg, assy and a couple parts within SW Explorer. Did where used and it renamed no problem. Now when I open the dwg, it looks good but will not save unless it rebuilds. A msg window says: "Views on inactive sheets need updating. If they are not updated, these views will appear empty when the drawing is opened in the SolidWorks Viewer or in View Only mode. Note that the update operation might increase the time required to save the drawing.
Update the drawing?" I click yes, it rebuilds, tells me a part needs to be saved, then saves. Then the main view goes blank. The whol process starts over. My VAR has the files and don't have an answer. Any clues? This dwg is very important to us right now. thanks

Just clutching at straws ... check to make sure each view is referencing the renamed assy & that the renamed assy is correctly referencing the renamed parts.

Yes, we looked at that. I have opened each part, everything looks ok. Thanks CBL

Go to each sheet and "ctrl q", then save.

Thanks Gildashard, tried that also.

My VAR finally fixed my model problem. I had to talk to the director of support to get the help I needed.
The fix was to go to Tools/Options/System Options/Performance then check the box “Verification on rebuild”.
Everything works well now.
