I am having a difficult time finding a durable encoder for use in the oil and gas industry. We have been through a few brands of encoders, but they all end up failing due to contamination. Could anyone recommend an encoder that can stand up to outdoor weather in Canada?

A hollow shaft incremental encoder. The one we are using now is the 1.5" bore IH103 from GESgroup (globalencoder.com). We have hundreds of these encoders, and I would like to rule out the possiblilty of buying before designing our own, or sealing the one we have.
