Hello folks! I have been doing some research on casting and know the bare basics of how the process takes place.
I have embarked on a project where I want to make exact copies of a molded plastic in a different color.
I need to replicate the Amber Side Marker (shown in the image above) with clear plastic. There aren't any manufacturers that already do this, so I would like to take the opportunity to create a custom mod for myself. I know that I can use either plaster (ceramic?) casting to make the molds or some other way with silicone, but I am lacking details. Also, I do not know what chemicals I need to mix together in order to create the plastic (or maybe I need to melt plaxi glass or something???). I have tried searching google, but I have not been able to obtain anything other than the basics. If you folks could help me out with some references (websites, books etc) I would more than appreciate it. Thank you for the help!
