How ductile iron(A395) valve rating is determined?
I made a multiple choice question as follows.
Please give me an answer.
If you think the answer is c, let me know the code reference related to this question, please.

a. It is defined according to ASME B16.42 ductile iron pipe flanges and flanged fittings.

b. It is defined according to manufacturer's standard.

The answer is A
Ductile iron valves come standard to ASME B16.42. See Annex A on page 21 in ASME B16.42 - 1998, Ductile and Iron Pipe Flanges and Flanged Fittings for determination of pressure -temperature ratings.

I'd say (b), the manufacturer should have hydrostatic test and chart results on his product. This may be a better answer than (a), although I don't disagree with Metenger.

c.ANSI/ASME B31.1 Chapter III Materials. My copy is the outdated 1980 edition article 123.2.6 Ductile (Nodular) Iron. This section also reference ANSI B16.42.
