DUCT SOX!!

Duct sox are quickly becoming an integral part of my company's Design/Build Dehumidification Projects (most applications involve swimming pools). I need to hang roughly 100 linear feet of duct sox with a 3/16" steel cable without noticable sagging. The duct sox weigh approximately 1 lb/ft. Please help me determine the amount of tension required in the cable to minimize elevation change (less than 6" sag throughout 100' run).

Sorry Dave I don't have one handy...that's why I threw it up on a thread. I was hoping maybe someone had the equation on the top of their brain.

Methinks that's nearly impossible with the added weight.

We hung about 50 ft of steel cable, by itself, and it sagged at least 3". Not sure what the tension was, but it was at the point where the people assembling felt that it had reached a diminishing return.

Very interesting. This I have considered and the 100' run will probably be supported in (2) additional locations.
