Drum Switch 2

Could anyone out there e-mail me a copy of a wireing diagram that shows the connections to hook up a drum switch to a 3/4 HP capaciter start motor, 110 Volt. Thanks Rodger rlee@aisl.bc.ca

Thanks for the info, a electrition friend of mine looked at the motor I was using and told me that it would not work unless I opened the case and brought some more wires out, I will have to go back to the drawing board on this one, thanks again, Rodger

Your local electric motor repair shop can bring out your start leads for you. I assume you want to use it for a boat lift? What brand motor do you have?

Hi Steve, the mtor is made by a company called Viking, it may be a old motor. The shaft sticks out both ends of the motor almost like it was made for a grinder, anyway I hooked two wires to the starting leads and two to the conections on the motor, put a regular two prong plug on one end and female receptrical on the other, by unpluging this and turning it around and pluging back in it works to reverse the motor. I am using this motor to power a winch that I use to pull logs up on the beach for firewood. Thanks, Rodger

Sounds like you have four wires out of the motor already. The electrician should be able to hook up your drum switch with that. Thats all your drum switch does...swap two leads like your plug is doing!
