drum filling operation

Dear Sir

I would like to bother you some simple questions about the drum filling.

Here is my description about Drum filling system : Most product (Ethoanolamines product) will be stored in drum. For drum filling, Ca. 205L capactiy drum will be used, and Product filling will be execute at filling lance and total 5 ca. of product lances are used. (pls see detail drawing in the attachement)

Q1.) Is this total production lines also count 5 ?

Q2) The design capcatiy of this drumming is 60 drums /hr with 2 train design. So could we just said that the drum filling capacity per day is 60 drums /hr *3600 hr/day*tons/drum?

Q3) The sampling point located at upstream of the handwheel valve,and could you please tell me what exactly is this sampling funciton for?
Is this sampling function is used for testing the product quality before it enter into the drumming area?

Q4) Before transfering any product to drum filling, should operator in field or DSC check the selected sampling quality is ok?

Q5) there are XV-1A/1B located at proudction line to loading bay and drumming area. Ater starting the pump, DCS operator or field operator should open the XV-1A or 1B to choose product to bay or drumming area or both.

Here abolve is my question. thank you for your help.

My interpretation is that the sampling might be for quality assurance, rather than quality control or for protection.

This is because the samples are taken from the flow line.
If it were quality control I'd expect samples to be taken from the tanks before the product pumped into the flow lines or drummed up.

If it were to protect the drums from off-spec product one might expect some real time sensors. By the time samples are taken and analysed the drums would be filled. Hence I suspect it is to provide a quality report on the product actually filled into the drums.

Of course, if the product in the mixing tanks could be assured to be fully homogeneous and previously sampled, would on line sampling be necessary?
In any event, the question is "why test in the lines and not the tanks?"
Is there a possibility that the product is not always homogeneous and therefore quality can vary from drum to drum but still be within the overall specification?
Or are these tanks that are prepared and then wheeled over an connected to the filling lines as is sometimes the case and in which case it is to match the actual product filled with the appropriate tank analysis?
Are the filling points a later addition and when? This can reveal the why.

thank you for your reply. But I would like to give more detail about the drum filling description. The drum fillers feature conveyors to bring empty drums into the filling station and to subsequently discharge full drums; a lance to direct fluid flow; an electronic scale to control the weight, and an electronic controller.
these operation include:
Indiction and discharge, plug location, plug removal,
tare, flow initation, here the drum filler may employ either top-fill or bottom-fill lances. Ther former are short, since thery are inserted only a few inches into the drum.
