I need to size a vertical separator for a reciprocating compressor with a mist eliminator. The inlet presure is around 15 kg/cm2g and the outlet 38 kg/cm2g. The gas have a higher content of hidrogen 92%.
I need to know, What is the maximum droplet diameter recomended to avoid harm in the compressor?

Thanks in advance.

Best regards,

FCS.

Generally the efficiency of mist eliminators are 99.9% for liquid drops up to 10 micron.
The 10 micron should be a good value to avoid harm in the compressor.

Yes, MGlycol is right. A demister is more than what required. An adequately sized cyclone separator could be enough. Anyway, go ahead with the demister.

The rocommendation is use 150 micron for size the vessel and use 10 micron for sizing the mist eliminator.
