I been working with some FEM software. When I go to solve the drop impact problem I don´t know the procedure to follow.
Do you have some information to make the drop impact test ?

The software just show me some equations about the problem. I don´t know if there is a mathematical model to make some calculation by hand.

I will appreciate any information related to.

Thanks.

You mean like ASTM E-208 "Standard Test Method for Conducting Drop-Weight Test to Determine Nil-Ductility Transition Temperature of Ferritic Steels?"

arto,

I don´t know this specification, can you give me some address to go and find this ASTM E-208 ?
I will appreciate with this information.

Basically, I want to know if COSMOS is working with this procedure to make calculation with the finite element model.

Thanks in advance.

If using COSMOS, you should contact the VAR that sold you the software, they should be able to asnwer you on this point.
