LNG industry is an extremely conservative industry for understandable reasons (highly intensive in terms of capital investment and loss of production has amplified effects). For a new product to penetrate this market is a real challenge. This is even more true when it comes to critical equipment. Drivers such as gas turbine are part of this and are very bound to the existence of references (read privilegied over efficiency and operating costs marginal gains) as far as I know and GE has been a (if not the) major player with processes tailored to the few well established heavy duty gas turbines FR7, FR9 etc. This does not mean there is no place for competition nor different type of drivers (aeroderivatives and also including motors); so to my opinion there is some bottom line in this.
