What is the formula to determine the length of a drive belt. Upon occasion I need to change a pulley size, which changes the length of the drive belt. These changes are only in 2 pulley systems, with the driving motor being 1 hp or less.

I've never used this one but it looks good and much easier than writing it out myself. Besides, they have four different methods.

Large Diameter plus small diameter times PI(3.14 plus 2 times center distamce

belt length = 2 * C.D. + 1.57 * (D+d) + [(D-d)²/(4 * C.D.)]

C.D. = center distance
D = OD of larger sheave
d = OD of smaller sheave
