hi,
i am designing a spud for the barge and need to know what penetration of the spud will be required to generate required resistance from soil.
since soil data is not available am trying to use the fact about the excavator on the barge that can produce a maximum of 51 ton force. this should be related to the strongest soil that can be dredged by this excavator, hence should give me the value of soil parameters.
further i assume that the spud is in same soil and hence should be able to find out the penetration of the spud required.
can anyone send me some links, references to similar kind of work?? will be great help.
