Hi,

Does anyone have a routine for drawing a screw thread in AutoCAD? I have an AutoLISP routine for a coil but it won't draw a true thread shape easily.

Cheers in advance,

Chris.

Chris, are you working in 2D? If so why not just draw the OD and ID to show a thread, it is the industry standard and how most (if not all) 3D packages show threads as 2D drawings?

Many more available if you use a search engine.

But I agree the plain jane 4-dashed line 2D version is the best all around way to draw a thread.
