Hi everyone
Does anyone know how to draw a spring using SW
What I need is about an inch long and about 1\2 OD is there
a library .

Thank as I am new to SW any help would be good.
Yvonne

draw circle od as any value
select the circle,
then go to insert- curve -helix
give the parameters (like pitch, revolution...)
create one plane perpendicular to that helix at the starting point(use ref geomentry- per curve option- select starting point of helix and helix curve)
now create circle for spring cross section(its center should be coincitant with starting point of helix).
then select insert - boss- sweep - select circular cross section and helix path.
now u can get spring.

More questions to consider. I'll use coil springs as an example. Do you want ground flat ends? Do you want compressed end coils (that last coil is deformed so it is flat - perpendicular to the axis - a bitch to model).

Also consider are you modelling free length or compressed length (as installed)? A very interesting topic!

3/4 of all the Spam produced goes to Hawaii - shame that's not true of SPAM also.......
