Hi,

I have a need to move the DraftCallout.txt which contains a lot of predefined text. I would like to move it to the sever so that everyone will have the same details.

The only method I've sort of found is on a German website and it talks about editing the registry. Something we won't be allowed to do here...

Any ideas?

Cheers,

M

Hi,

AFAIK there is no other way as to change the entry under

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Unigraphics Solutions\Solid Edge\Version xx\TemplatePath

BTW:
The new location must have the same structure as the
original one: just copy all folders below ..\Template
to the new \Template location. Running makevercurr.exe
will restore the above entry to the orginal location.
Maybe the use of the file

C:\Program Files\Solid Edge Vxx\Program\LinkMgmt.txt

might work -- I don't know

I'd think twice about forcing everyone to use one draftcallout.txt. I'm generally all in favor of standardization but it's sometimes usefull to be able to create your own settings for a specific purpose.

For instance I sometimes use SE to create images for reports etc. Being able to use property text to annotate those images semi automatically is great. However the callouts I use to do so often wouldn't belong on a drawing so I wouldn't want them in a common draftcallout.txt that people might think they could use on drawings etc.

Our solution is that we have a master copy on a network location. If we ever change it or when we upgrade we tell people to copy it across to their C. We have a short procedure to do this.

Just my 2C

KENAT, probably the least qualified checker you'll ever meet...

I work in the same way as Kenat for centralisation of the draft callout.

It's a good piece of advice :)
