Is anyone familiar with a standard that covers the use of Dowel Pin Symbols in drawings?

Thanks in advance

ASME Y14.100 Engineering Drawing Practices should cover dowel pin symbols in drawings.

Think "BMW symbol"

That's what students in my drafting class refer to it as.

SW gives two different orientations for Dowel Pin Symbol. Do the two orientations have any specific meaning attached to each one of them?

Thanks in advance
