hi everyone,

I understand double rail kamprofile gaskets are usually a good alternative to get you out of a hole if RTJ groove is deformed. The conversion process involves machining the flat edges either side of the groove to achieve the typical surface roughness.

My question is:
How would you adopt the double rail kamprofile into the PCC-1 appendix O (joint approach method) - i.e, do you combine the two areas of the landing portion of the double rail?
Further to that, any guidance/experience on how to set up moment arms for HG, HT and HD in WRC538 calculations?

My concern is adopting the low bolt stress values typically assigned for RTJs to the double rail kamprofile wouldnot be enough to seat the double rail gasket.

Thanks in advance.

It does not take much bolt stress to seat any kammpro gasket. I'm not sure what you mean by a "double rail kamprofile gasket", but they do make kammpro conversion gaskets designed to seat on only one of the raised edges of RTJ flanges (typically the outer raised edge, see LAMONS conversion gaskets in their catalog). If you are concerned about seating both areas of a "double rail kamprofile gasket", you may want to look into a different RTJ conversion kammpro gasket with only one seating area.
