I have been looking at this Japanese company that makes automatic door closers with spring assist. here is a link to their catalog.
I have seen many designs come out of Japan that require great precision and "work" as intended but only if installed perfectly. Also, there is something quirky about the design like it must be cycled fully 90 degrees or the mechanism won't reset itself for a second use. Also the life cycles are never close to the claims.
Any ideas?? Thanks

If you look at the 100 and 200 series spring closers, can you tell me how the clutch in between works? I know how the damper hinge works, but I really have no idea about the clutch. I am guessing the "weak" spring closes the door most of the way and then the clutch trips and the "strong" spring "takes over" and does the final close. ?? Am I seeing this right? Any ideas?? Thanks
