Does disabling HyperThreading on CPU in windows 7 help to speed up command execution and geometry manipulations in NX?

In therory it should. If you look at how Intel implements hyperthreading, it is usually desired to disable it. It is taking 1 cpu core and having it act like 2. In a low CPU-intensive applicayion this allows the OS to run on one and the apps on the other. With CAD, you want the full power for your app. A dual-CPU or even a dual-core machine will preform better than a single core with hyperthreading.

I agree with Ben and well as Siemens recommends disabling hyperthreading for NX. Just as important, multi core computers should have SMP enabled. For design there are some functions that will take advantage of multiple cores and manufacturing can generate multiple processes simultaneously. You can check your computer for SMP by looking at the log file and searching for UGII_SMP_ENABLE; it should be set to 1. Check with your admin person if you need it enabled or post a reply back here if you need assistance.
