Does anyone know were to get some high quality 3.5MM stereo jack and plug? Would really like a gold one, but just can not seem to find anything but junk.

Hi Steveowens,
Try:
(I know, the URL looks a little funny, but really, they're an electronics outfit!).
I was just looking thru their catalog last night and am impressed with their selection.

Another good hit is:
Amazing variety of cables and connectors.

And of course:
I'm not sure if they have gold, but if they do, you can probably buy two for what one costs at the other places.
Hope this can help,

Neutric makes some really nice connectors for audio purposes. They have a 3.5mm stereo plug that I have used on several occations for custom cable assys. It is gold plated and has a good quality machined (not stamped) metal barrel.
I've seen the junk that you refer to... these are nice connectors. Find a local supply shop that handles Neutric connectors.

Cliff Electronics makes some really nice stuff and reasonably priced too.
