Good day!
I am preparing steam tracing test.
ASME 31.3 said it is okay with in-service test. but owner want to take test with air.
therefore it may proceed with leak test with air.

but i dont know how much pressure is correct.

operation pressure is 3.1 kgf/cm2 and design pressure is 8.7kgf/cm2(max)

if i adjust 1.1times than design pressure, i think it is too much and may tube could not afford it.

please answer to me.

tube size is 1/2" SUS tube.

thanks

So you think a pressure just over the design pressure is "too much" ??!!

Why? This is complete nonsense.

1/2"tube can withstand much larger pressures.

Also: If you get a response it's polite to respond to it.

The corret procedure is air pressure, at some grams (150/200) above the atmmosferic pressure and soap test all the welds.
