I need to submit hydraulic calculations to DSA for a project, but no one at my firm has done hydraulic tests yet. So I am on my own to figure this out by hand.

Does anyone have examples done by hand? If I see an example, I should have an easier time figuring it out. The example in NFPA 13 was difficult to follow along.

Or if anyone knows of a free program as to which I would be able to import the data, such that the results would be created for me.

Pardon my lack of knowledge. I feel like I have been thrown to the wolves to figure this out haha

Do you mean fire sprinkler hydraulic calculations? If so, yes there are hand calculations for a simple "tree" style system, but not for a grid. Too much to post here. Hydraulic tests do not equal hydraulic calculations. This should be done by an experienced fire sprinkler designer, not by you if you have no experience at doing it. Doubly so if the submitted calculations are going to the local authority having jurisdiction. If this is for fire protection, it is posted in the wrong forum.

trashcanman, could you send me to the proper forum?

My principal and I will be working on it together. I am seeking detailed examples to aid the process.

If you have anything at all, could you please direct me to those sources.
