Very quick question...

I only have the older ASME B16.9 2007 code available, and I'm wondering if another reducer size was added in 2012.

Does an 8x3 concentric reducer exist in ASME B16.9 (2012)?

Thanks!

I only see 8" x 3-1/2". If you've got space in the line, you could reduce 8x6 earlier in the line and then go 6x3.

Negative. As boofi has stated, ASME B16.9 2012 Edition cuts off at 8"x3-1/2". 6" NPS is the largest reducer that includes 3" NPS size.

NPS 3x1" also doesnt exist in B16.9 but can be readily purchased. The marking and CMTR will state B16.9. One can argue if it truly meets B16.9, but for the example mentioned Ive reviewed B16.9 and couldnt find any sentence which excluded NPS 3x1". So 8x3" may be available, and Im not syaing it cant meet B16.9.
