I have read a good portion of the ASME BPVC IV and various other regulations and I still can't decipher if my machine is subject to ASME code certifications requirements.
It is a electric pump that delivers cold water(variable .125-1.5 GPM) to a double helical coil heated by a Oil Burner that heats water to 270°F-300° connected to a manifold that splits the heated water/steam to multiple heads where hoses are connected for use in removing vinyl decals from semi trailers.
Similar to a heated pressure washer except;
It is an "open gun system" with operating pressure of 10-50PSI;
a.)that could potentially become closed if all valves are closed in which there is a pressure relief valve that releases pressure above 60 PSI.
b.)or Burner fuel is shut off if Electronic Thermostat reaches set temperature[320°F]
c.)or if previous measures fail, Electronic Pump controller faults to OVERLOAD/OFF if System/Vessel exceeds pump motor resistance (internal 180-200psi)
I am still a student and not versed in all the codes or exceptions but continue to search. I would like to sell these in the future. Any suggestions at what criteria it may be subject to or exceptions it would be accorded?
