do i need to "tie" vertical reinf and horizontal reinf for cmu

i was able to design the cmu wall (thanks enercalc) i need vertical reinforcements on each side and i'll provide only minimum horizontal reinforcement every 16".

my question is how do these vert and hor reinforcement tie together. do i need to show it in the drawing? do i even need to tie them together?

I'm not sure I understand your drawing. If the dashed parallel lines represent the face shell of the masonry then for starters you need to go back and redo the design allowing for the required clearance between the vertical reinforcement and the masonry shell.

The hook geometries, development lengths, and lap lengths for tension and compression splices come out of ACI 530 or whatever standard applies to you. The bars do not need to be mechanically "tied" except as required for constructability. Again, local practices and codes may also apply to you.

I recommend that you get a copy of the Masonry Design Guide for a good idea of how ACI 530 is implemented in real life. It has examples, drawings, commentary, etc.

ok tnx for the "ties" advice. I'll check if I can do with 1 vertical bar only in the center. don't know why enercalc is allowing me 2 v bars on each face but I'll verify if meet those clearance per cmu requirement.
