Is there any way to convert the tensile test results for the
ASTM E8 2"X.500" gauge results (Yeild, Tensile, N, R, Elong)
to the equivalent results in the JIS tensile bar?

Thanks in advance

Nick

Nick,

Conversions to what, from ASTM to JIS?
The difference between the 2 is the gage width of the sample, 0.500 for the ASTM to 0.94 or so for the JIS.

The elongation will be higher on the JIS, more material to stretch, the n-value and r will be relatively unchanged, but may be slightly higher on the JIS sample.

I am the Midwest Sales Manager for Tinius Olsen Testing Machine and have worked for test labs in the midwest for sometime. If you have any questions you can also call Tinius Olsen at (215) 675-7100..

Hope this helps.
