Hi,

I have been trying to interpret the physical reason of this clause in DNV2013.

Link

See link below Clause 606 equation 5.25.

It calls for a reduction in the plastic moment capacity if the structural element has lateral point loads.

I personally feel the reason for this clause is to incorporate sway effects / P-Delta effect / second order effects

I was thinking that if I have done a P-Delta analysis or a geometric non linear analysis, this clause is not applicable.
Any insight / point of view will be appreciated.
