I am working on a phone line alarm receiver and I have been asked to handle DNIS (Dialed Number Identification Service). I am looking for any documentation or advice concerning that service for Canada and USA...
Our line interface includes a DTMF decoder and a FSK caller ID receiving chip.

Plenty of info on the web... Google "caller ID protocol".

DNIS is (I think) when you have many telephone numbers leading to one call centre. For a fee, your telephone company will send you a string of digits (in DTMF) so that your equipment will know what number was actually called so that your systems can respond according. I know nothing more.
