Is it possible that same Abaqus file in two different workstations would result differently..? To be precise, I was running an Abaqus Explicit nonlinear dynamic analysis of a RC frame and it was resulted into excessive distortion in some elements. I had run the same file in one of my other workstations and eventually analysis was through without any distortion problems. What could be the reason.? Is it something to do with "RAM" (both my workstations are different RAM sizes: 48GB and 96GB..Any ideas would be of great help.

Although this is rare and should not happen, it is possible. Are the number of cores different between the two machines? Are you using the double precision executable on both machines?

Yes, it happens from time to time. Was the same Abaqus release used on both machines ?

No of cores is also same in both the workstations(12 cores).
Am using single precision only.

One thing you can do as a test to see what might be the problem is set them both to a fixed time increment and see if the results still differ.
