Dear members,
i'm a new patran/nastran user.
I modelled a 2D flat plate and a 3D solid plate attached on her top face.
I gave two differents materials.
I have two problems:
1) i have a valid solution only if the simulation is NON LINEAR STATIC. It's possible that there is no solutione for the LINEAR case?

2) During the post processing i can't display the stress fringe on the 2D elements, but only on the 3D elements.
There are problems or there is something to switch?

Thanks to everyone!

Would you post your bdf/dat file so I can run your model?

The 2D elements provided "layered" results, while the 3D elements provide "non-layered" results. In the "Results" menu select "layered" to view 2D elem results, and "non-layered" to see the 3D elem results.
