Hi all,
Please, what are the critical contents required in a method statement for dismantling floating roof for a storage tank?

Thanks

They are usually pretty light - in the 3-7 psf range - check this out.

Biggest problem is they truly do float - so dismantling can be tricky. We usually put light weight shoring (think scaffolding) under the whole thing and then dismantle.

Make sure that the instructions require demolition, removal and disposal.
Otherwise, you might end up with a pile of contaminated metal in you parking lot.

And BTW - do it symmetrically - so loads don't become too unbalanced.

Thanks for the comments.
When cranes are used to lift cut sections, are there special consideration? e.g would it be necessary to have a lifting plan and run any calculation based on the load chart for the crane

Once you have determined the weights of the sections - YES - make sure the crane is capable.

And do it in smaller sections and symmetrically!!
