Disconnecting Cathodic Protection System

Generally when a pipeline is protected by impressed current CP system it is required to disconnect the rectifier before starting any welding on the pipeline. Do we need to disconnect a Mag anode system as well. i believe the voltage and current involved is very low in sacrificial CP system and should not be an issue even if we dont disconnect and do welding on the pipeline. is this right?
