I am currently trying to implement dirlik's equation to give a probability density function. I am using the original thesis he wrote to tie up some of the numbers for block PSD's, yet I am have difficulties. If anybody knows of any reference material or worked examples of this implementation I would be very grateful.

These references may help you.

Look for papers by A. Halfpenny (NCode Inc) and/or NWM Bishop (MSC Corp). Note: Bishop followed Dirlik at U. Warwick, and Halfpenny and Bishop worked togethe rat NCode.

Halfpenny, A Frequency Domain Approach for Fatigue Life Estimation from Finite Element Analysis, (Note: Search for it at to get a PDF format document.)

Bishop, Vibration Fatigue Analysis in the Finite Element Environment, (Note: download
