I'm told by Hughes the wireless home networking can be done with Directway but they won't tell what equipment or how since they don't support it.

What is needed to put together a wireless network in my house?

Hey Emauss,

How is it going? I currently have the one way satellite going (Bell ExpressVU) in Canada. Its using the DirecPC gear. I have a Win2K server running routing and remote access server... Works great... Had to tweak the TCP/IP, MTU settings a bit with DRTCP but its fine. DHCP and DNS runs great.

The problem I have is I hate the analog dialup upload... Not very reliable when I am trying to get back into my net. I had a question about your experiences with the 4020. Thinking of taking this route but you have had some horror stories... I noticed your last post on Mar 28 and it says you went back to Earthlink. Is this still I bi-directional service? This 4020... Is it connected to your LAN gear or through a PC's USB?

In Canada, they are telling people that they can VPN over this DirectWay setup... If I go, I'm buying the IP and attaching a Sun/FW1 setup. Depending on your response, I'll see if I go through with it.

Talk later,
RAIDMAN
