When I add a dimension to a drawing the dimension name is showing up in parenthesis below the value. Can someone please help and tell me how to turn this off?

SolidWorks 2008 SP2.1

Thanks.. I knew that was what it was just could not locate it. two of us overlooked it 3 times.

hi
this parenthesis was added to your dimesions because you make this dimension as a refrences value you can simply turn this off by clicking in the: dimension manager>dimention text [left panel if you try to use dim's for one entity](the first tab)
in the text box below of this panel you can add your own changes such as write a note in the right or left of dim's or etc, note that this panel actually is an internal comand line for solid works, for exam: <DIM> means the dimension command for selected entities.
other characters that seen in upper of this pannel has geometrical and dimensinal discriptions,(GD&T)that each of them can add teachnical propertics in your drawings, try to find thair applications in drawings,(make a studies on GD&T methods).
