Dimension update

I want to know how exactly DIMENSION UPDATE will be used in AutoCAD. Any suggestions and help would be greatly appreciated.

It changes all the selected dimensions to the current dimension style. It would be helpful if you start dimensioning in one style, then change your mind and want to use another style or if you receive a drawing from an outside source and need to change the dims to your standard style. Just set the desired style current, pick dimension update, and select the whole drawing. It will filter out the dims and change them all.
