The drawing will show basically be a simple tube.
When it is assembled the tube be a little bit flattened on one of its walls and a tab on it will be bent.
Is the best way to accomplished this with two different bodies in the model file and two reference sets ?

I am on NX8.5

Yes, that's certainly one of the scenarios put forward when we were developing Reference Sets. The idea that a part model could have several different manifestations, one of which could be 'as fabricated' while another would be 'as assembled'. Reference Sets are also useful for where there might be detail that needs to be seen when making the Drawing of the part for manufacturing/fabrication purposes yet that same part model could look quite different, with much of the small detail removed, when added to an assembly so as to improve the performance of the session, particularly if the Component was duplicated a number of times in the Assembly.

Here's an image showing (also attached below) what I mean for that last sort of example I mentioned above where I have both a detailed and a simplified Reference Set in the same part file of a typical Cap Screw.

Imagine how many faces and edges you could save having the system display if you had an Assembly with a several hundred of these bolts as Components.
