I want to reverse the direction of a small two cycle engine. Can someone suggest a link or help with a cct that will alter the timing output pulse from a CDI to an ignition coil so that the new pulse happens a fixed number of degrees after TDC, rather than BTDC?..

thanks..

Such a circuit would be complicated (microprocessor?) and would (inherently) only be accurate at a fixed RPM (not accelerating).

Is there any way to make a mechanical change to adjust the timing at the source? Is the delta within adjustment range?

thanks for the quick reply...

Yes, my alternate solution was to place an optical pick-up device somewhere where crankshaft position could be determined.. I will look closer.. thanks..
