Hello, Im a spanish engineer, so please excuse my english.
I'm modelling a masonry wall with Abaqus CAE. I've got two main parts: one are the bricks, and the other is the mortar. I´m ready to mesh, but I want the bricks an the mortar to share the same nodes in the interfase surfaces. How can I do this?
Please help a novice!

When you build the wall and mortar then make it a single part and then partition it to include the mortar inbetween the bricks and assign properties to the separate partitions. That way the nodes will be shared as they are all of the same part.

The other way would be to create separate parts, mesh them, create meshed parts, merge the nodes between the parts, and hope you left no gaps. In a word.. sucio?

I just did what you sugested (building the whole wall as an unique part and then make several partitions for each region -bricks/mortar-) and it worked GREAT! Thanks a lot, Corus.
Now Im trying to define the plastic properties of the materials. No success, by now. I'll try harder for a couple of days and, if I dont achive it, I'll run back crying to you. Please stay tuned to the forum.
