Difference in ASTM A284 Grade C and Grade D

You should purchase the ASTM Specification to assure a proper comparison between chemical and mechanical properties. They are not that expensive;
ASTM A 284 was Withdrawn and Replaced by ASTM A 283. I don't know if the Grades are the same between the specifications, so you may have a problem if you have a historical part and need to know its properties. If it is for a new application, then just use A 283.
