Hi all. We are looking to purchase some Ethyl Cellulose to make a sample batch of hot melt coating. I have been quoted for Methocel, a Dow product. Is this the same? I also see they produce Ethocel, which certainly is the right stuff. So what is Methocel (methocel 311), is it the same? What is the difference and would it work as the binder for various oils that make up a hot melt? As you can see...I'm no chemist!!!

Does anyone know the correct viscosity we would use too by any chance, would 45-55 CPs be the right grade...?
As always, many thanks to all who reply to postings!!
