Does anyone know of a free source code to do this? Is there one available for linux? I know there are many similar approaches such as pdf2ps utilities. Just wondering.

Thx. for posts.

I like linux because of the free gcc compiler. It allows me to compile any source code that is gcc compliant. Your post does help, I'm perhaps being too optimistic thinking file conversion of these types are "just laying around" and can be easily accessed. Ideally I would like to have a "rosetta stone" on a linux box to help our department cut down on the tiresome conversion process.

Thank you for posting.

If you're sticking to Linux then I think you're probably stuffed. Most things CAD related are in Windows (for good or ill).

I have worked for some large companies who did not have any ways to make a clean export from Microstation to Autocad.

If you find something please post it back here, thanks.

Microstation V8 will Save As .dwg, directly. So, if you are getting .dgn's from someone, just have them Save As .dwg and send.
